Support an Orphan
The ‘Child Sponsorship Program’ is one of the practical applications of our strategy. This programme aims to increase the overall levels of school enrolment and deliver support to orphans and vulnerable children in the areas of education, daily sustenance, and health care. By this date we have successfully helped 114 (of which one has graduated from the university, and five from tertiary institutions) and are currently helping 110 vulnerable children and orphans. Therefore we would like to thank our current and former sponsors for their continued and tireless support for these disadvantaged children.
We have found that child sponsorship provides more than just short-term hunger relief – it allows for an improved quality of life (through improved health and education, reduced risk of HIV/AIDS, higher learning potential) and a brighter future for your sponsored child. But the challenges are still increasing due to the high costs and poor standards of living coupled with the increasing number of orphans without any assistance and child-headed family. We are, together with the sponsors, fighting these challenges by giving them educational, nutritional, medical, legal and basic support. Next to a financial contribution, you can also contribute by sending clothes, shoes or backpacks. Even willing to be a penpal can be enough for the orphans supported by UAOWF, since this can be a life changing experience for many of them.
There are several causes that your financial donation can serve when you choose to support an orphan:

When you choose to support one of these causes, you will receive a photo and personal profile of the child that you are sponsoring, updates on his/ her wellbeing, and notes, drawings or correspondence from the child, at least twice a year. You will also have the opportunity to send notes and small gifts to your child.
