About us

United African Orphans and Widows Foundation (UAOWF) is a non-profit and non-denominational voluntary organization operating in Iganga, Eastern Uganda. UAOWF was established in 2004 by a group of concerned citizens who are professionals in the fields of health, community development, and education. Due to the high number of HIV/AIDS orphans and widows in the region, the need for such an establishment was urgent. Today the organisation is fully registered with the government of Uganda (Reg no. IDLCl099) and has since its inception been actively involved in numerous campaigns and projects as well as established many partnerships. The core activities are all aligned with the vision, mission, and core values of the organization, as outlined below. Further information concerning the practicalities of the ongoing projects of UAOWF can be found under 'Activities'.
