Reason
Improve economic wellbeing of the individual households of the community, especially those with orphans or widows.
Projects
Goat Project
A village receives one male goat and the widows in the project receive two female goats. As these animals reproduce, the women have to give away the first two female goats produced to other widows. They are free to keep the subsequent goats that are born and use them for producing goat milk, sell them, or eat them.
Beads Project
A group of widows has received skills on how to make paper bead. Out of these paper beads they make jewellery that is either shipped to the foreign market or sold within the local community. Tailoring Project
Women that have dropped out of school receive vocational training on tailoring skills. Upon completing this training, they can choose to move on to enter working life and some of the women want to start their own training centre in order to pass on the skills they have acquired.
