Education

Goal

As described under the Millenium Development Goals Target 2, UAOWF works actively to ensure education for children everywhere, boys and girls alike. The goal to acchieve universal primary education is an ambitious one, but we believe it is one of the most important measures for future generations.

 

Reason

    UAOWF believes that education should be given to all irrespective of family's wealth. Educating orphans and vulnerable children is the     best way to unlock their underlying potential, make them better citizens, and help them out of the destructive cycle of poverty. The     hope is that they will contribute positively to their own development and that of their country.
 

Partnerships with school

UAOWF has several partnerships schools where the children who are given scholarships are placed. The schools receive the school fees in instalments instead of everything at the same time, which allows the organisation an extended period of time to fund the tuition fees.

Extra lessons

At the moment two of our international volunteers are giving computer skills lessons to the children at Iganga Prime Academy, Highway Primary School and Greend Field High School.
